For years, Yoon Ji-Eun has been exploring temporality, the synchronicity of events with no apparent connection, and the fragmentation of what once seemed unified. The artist attempts to give shape to this multiplicity that constantly escapes us, and of which we are both actors and dependents. The feeling of moving through a labyrinth can overwhelm us : we lack perspective and a way out. This can play on an intimate level or result from History, with a capital H—the kind that disrupts without warning. In response to our search for meaning, stability, and harmony, life offers us fragile and uncertain balances.
