Linda Swanson

Installations, experimentations and sculptures – as a whole, the work of American artist Linda Swanson tends to put the inherent qualities of ceramic matter forward in order to awaken the senses and the unlimited potential of human perception. She is looking to stimulate the comprehension of a world in constant transformation and suggest new viewpoints in order to draw our attention to the huge number of interpretation models and systems that left their marks in the history of mankind. The title Phasis is a reference not only to phases, the state of matters – cycles and time -, but also to its meaning in ancient Greek, that is the idea of an appearance.

Through an aesthetic and contained and sophisticated stagings, often using metaphors, Linda Swanson makes visible, provokes thoughts and materializes fragments from reality and abstract notions that make up the very basis of our existence.
